Meet Mykelti
His brewing journey started at the end of high school where he realised beer is awesome, but what wasn't awesome was the price tag on a teenagers budget! So he started brewing his first extract beers, ciders and homemade wines, beginning the obsession and kicking off the journey into the wild world of Zymurgy!
Following his discovery of the joy of brewing he decided to learn more about the awesome biochemistry of fermentation science and studied Biotechnology at the University of Technology, Sydney. Now after several years of study and many more years of brewing, experimenting (and yes a bit of drinking) he is a Zymurgist (fermentation scientist) determined to craft weird & wonderful concoctions, as well as share the art & Science of Brewing with the world!
Meet Liam
He is the man with the plan! behind every awesome wombat character is the man with the artistic hand to them to life, and that man is Liam! He's not just the teams resident artist, he's also our coder, regular taste tester and web designer (the very website where you are reading this right now!)
Liam joined the crew a few years back when Mykelti first had the idea of starting a brewery, and at that moment he knew it needed a fun, creative and whacky mascot. Enter the flying wombat! To bring his idea to life he leaned on Liam to put pen to paper and create the very first wombat logo. Since then it has undergone several generations of development (and likely will again in future) as well as a whole range of whacky wombat characters you can now see scattered around the site, and on all of our awesome Merch!
Meet Odin
His beer journey began when he met Mykelti at the University of Technology Sydney while studying Biotechnology. Mykelti gazed upon Odin and realised that he couldn't resist him. Despite Odin's efforts to distance himself from Mykelti, he eventually fell under the spell of Mykelti's irresistible charm.
One of their initial joint projects was brewing a beer for a biochemistry class, which didn't turn out well for Odin. However, this experience ignited a passion within him and inspired the start of the wombat channel. Recognizing the potential interest in sharing their brewing journey, Odin decided to purchase a camera and share their journey to the world. The Flying Wombat aims to provide an enjoyable and fun experience for everyone involved, and Odin is the embodiment of a bloody good time!.... (or at least he thinks he is!)

The Flying Wombat was created to be a symbol of creativity, adventures and good times spent with good people. We promote mate-ship, fun and the courage to try new and exciting things, even if they may not work!
